For my capstone project, I am creating a new style of music by blending elements of classic English rock and Jamaican reggae to form a unique and original sound. The goal is to combine the powerful guitar riffs, energy, and structure of rock and roll with the rhythmic grooves, offbeat accents, and laid-back feel of reggae to produce something fresh and culturally rich. I will use digital audio workstations (DAWs) like FL Studio or Ableton Live to compose, record, and mix the music. Instruments will include electric guitar, bass, drums, and possibly synthesizers, along with reggae-style rhythm sections and vocal patterns. By experimenting with tempo, instrumentation, and rhythm, I aim to develop a new musical fusion that honors both genres while pushing creative boundaries.
